As many of you know my brother Cooper is a very special boy who is well into year 3 of unpacking his bags.
My peeps have tried meds, behaviorists, training and a whole slew of other things to help Cooper unpack.
Cooper has come a long way, but he is still a work in progress.
The peeps latest attempt to help Cooper feel safe in the world is the THUNDERSHIRT.
Sure it looks a bit weird, sounds even weirder – but when Cooper gets an anxiety attack over scary sounds, he likes to dig at the walls or floor. You see Cooper HATES birds, thunderstorms and fireworks. The peeps can help med him when a storm or holiday is coming, but the screech of bird is darn near unpredictable.
Now Cooper slips into his THUNDERSHIRT and the world isn’t so scary, before he needed to be crated for the safety of the house and his own well-being when the screech of a bird sent him into a tailspin.
Now the funny little shirt seems to be doing the trick and of course celebrating Hanukkah in September helps. Don’t tell Cooper I told you but he celebrates Hanukkah almost every day, can’t be without his Menorah.
Not sayin’ the THUNDERSHIRT will work for your pup – just know its makin’ a difference for Cooper.
PS. Looks like Claire has been adopted by a fabulous lady. We got 15 paws crossed for Sierra and that someone sees the golden beauty inside her and not the missin’ golden bits on the outside.

Mom says she reads so many GReat khomments about Thundershirts – and Rescue Remedy and Calming Caramels -
Khousin Merdie was much like Cooper – digging and such – but now that she’s an older GiRl with minimal hearing, storms and the rest don’t bug her -
Paws khrossed fur Sierra and khonGRats to Claire!

Hey, Ben,
I wore one of those for a while (I get freaked out in the car…must be the peeps’ driving). Momma thought it helped a little. I have a labby friend who loves hers, and it works grrreat for her! I’ve heard good things about them from my nice trainer, too; her papillon wears one for, well, thunder. Good luck to Coops; and good for your peeps for tryin’ everything.
Woofs & Wags,
Rex

So glad for Cooper that it works and very happy to hear Claire found a home…we were thinking about her a lot.

I love what the thundershirt has done for my dog who likes to play with the musical menorah year- around too, but not during thunderstorms. While the thundershirt has totally helped reduce the anxiety level, I’ve found that adding music can also help, I’ve tried different types and this playlist has had the most positive impact. It’s a good thing this is anonymous – usually not something I would chose unless I’m at a spa
I thought I would try new age music and downloaded this first because it was free. It’s been 3 months, I’ve gotten used to listening to it during storms while my dog lays on her bed! Hope it can also turn your home into a spa for Coop….

I’m glad the thundershirt is giving Cooper a little rest. We will keep paws crossed Sierra finds her home!

Yeay for Claire; 20 White Dog Army paws crossed for Sierra to have her golden moment. Glad to Cooper is finding some relief from his anxieties…your family is wonderful to be so patient in helping him overcome his baggage. The Thundershirt seems to work well for many…we have considered one for our blind boy, YoYoMa, who gets really rattled by sudden noises and thunder.

Oh Coop – you look so cute resting there with your stuffie. I’m glad to hear the Thundershirt was a success. Farley gets more anxious with storms the older he gets — so we might have to try one too
